5)Is imperialism inevitable? Will/ should we ever strive for pure equality of power and wealth? Explain your answer using at least 2 examples from history to support your answer
For what we have experienced and have learned that in history imperialism has only or mostly happened in countries that are not developed and that have very good raw materials that are needed to industrialize countries and get wealthier. Imperialism is just a strong country taking over a weaker country or colony. In Africa they didn't have education and due to that they didn't have the knowledge to get modernize like Europe. That's in some cases imperialism is inevitable because the weaker cant defeat a stronger country. That's why the Africans couldn't fight back even though they tried but they couldn't because Europe had modern technology and armies.
Countries like Africa that really are poor in everything and that only specialize in one job like only getting food and not on building weapons and making new creations. Now countries like Great Britain which have a favorable geography and were able to create new things and get modernize. Therefore we shouldn't strive for equality because I don't think everyone should be equal because life would be boring and you always want to be different have your own goals in life and always try to be higher than others and have competition that's the only way you will succeed.

4)What role do you think the imperialism of the 19th and 20th century played in sparking the civil war in Sierra Leone?
Well Sierra Leone is a major part of Africa which has an abundance of diamonds. Europeans whom went there because they wanted the diamonds to use as natural resources and sell it in America for a high price. The Africans fought back because they wanted to keep their diamonds. This caused a civil war that started in March 1991, which affected the Africans because their was unemployment, poor economic conditions and tribalism. By the way tribalism is that the Africans were separated by tribes with different culture who fought each other. However, this affected sienna Leone and the people that lived there because ten thousand died. This left a big impact in Africa.

3). Compare and Contrast the colonization of the Age of Exploration (15th and 16th century) with the imperialism of the 19th and 20th century.
The age of exploration was in the 15th and 16th century which was really about Europeans finding new trade routes and imperialist countries. They exchanged goods gold, silver and spices. The colonization of the age of exploration and imperialism were similar because they were both controlled by the Europeans whom were really ambitious and wanted all the land they can get to control to their own advantage. Since the Europeans had more modern technology like the steam boats due to the industrial revolution which played a major role. While in the age of exploration which traveled in voyages and in the ocean and all they wanted were god, gold, and glory. God being their leader who ordered them and gold in money and spices they got and glory is for what they get at the end and what they gain. In the imperialism all they wanted was the land and even though most of the countries had wealth.

1. How did the Industrial Revolution and the rise of Capitalism spark interest in Africa and the imperialism of the 19th and 20th century?
The industrial revolution occurred around the late 1800s and 1900s. This was a time when there was new machines and inventions created to modernize and industrialize Britain. The industrial revolution started in Britain because it had a favorable geography and the natural resources like coal and iron that was mostly needed to construct new inventions. Trading also increased which influenced cultural diffusion. It also had a lot of money which made it easier to support the industrialization. This also started a new economic system which is capitalism. Capitalism is a system in which the factors of production are privately owned and money is invested in business ventures to make profit. This economic system made factories to increase and factory owners had to take resources to Great Britain which made them target Africa.
They target African because it has a lot of natural resources which they need like coal, diamonds, and oil and much more things and especially uneducated African which they can control and have them work for them. Therefore, Europeans imperialized Africa which helps Europeans have balance of trade and more wealth by importing raw materials to Europe. Therefore Europe had a major part on imperialism of Africa which affected some Africans really badly.

2) Explain how the Berlin Conference and the imperialism of Africa that ensued effected the both the colonized Africans and the European colonizers?

The European nations met at the Berlin conference to lay down rules for the division of Africa since France owned a lot of land due to napoleon Bonaparte. The Berlin conference and the imperialism of Africa affected both the colonized Africans and the European colonizers. The Europeans got more lands and more wealth due to natural resources of Africa while the Africans got less land and some got their culture and tradition changed. This was because of assimilation and colonization. Though, assimilation is when people of a different background come to see themselves as a part of a larger national family. Therefore most Africans died of warfare and as you can read the Europeans got what they wanted while the Africans lost almost everything.
